Robin Wright as Stranger Lady

Robin Wright made her debut in Rob Reiner’s cult classic THE PRINCESS BRIDE and has since become one of cinema’s most acclaimed actors.

Wright has received many kudos for her outstanding performances over the years.  Two of her first nominations, a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild, came in 1995 for her unforgettable role as ‘Jenny’ opposite Tom Hanks in Robert Zemeckis’ Best Picture Oscar winner, FORREST GUMP.   Wright earned her second Screen Actors Guild nomination for Best Lead Actress in Nick Cassavetes’ SHE’S SO LOVELY, and her third nomination for Best Actress in a Television Movie or Miniseries in Fred Schepisi’s EMPIRE FALLS.  She has received three Independent Spirit nominations for her performances in Erin Dingman’s LOVED opposite William Hurt; Rodrigo Garcia’s ensemble NINE LIVES; and Jeff Stanzler’s SORRY, HATERS.  Additionally, Wright Penn starred in and served as an executive producer on Deborah Kampmeier’s VIRGIN, which received an Independent Spirit nomination for Best First Feature (under $500k) AKA the “John Cassavetes Award.”

Night Shyamalan’s UNBREAKABLE opposite Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson; Pen Densham’s MOLL FLANDERS opposite Morgan Freeman; and Barry Levinson’s TOYS opposite Robin Williams and in the short film directed by Jennifer Aniston ROOM 10 opposite Kris Kristoferson for GLAMOUR magazine’s “Reel Women Film Series.”

Recently, Wright appeared in Anthony Minghella’s BREAKING AND ENTERING opposite Jude Law; in Deborah Kampmeier’s HOUNDDOG opposite Dakota Fanning, which Wright Penn executive produced and which premiered at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival; and in Robert Zemeckis’ BEOWULF, which also featured Anthony Hopkins and Angelina Jolie.

She will next be seen in Kevin Macdonald’s STATE OF PLAY, opposite Russell Crowe, Rachel McAdams, Ben Affleck, Helen Mirren and Jason Bateman. The film is scheduled for release from Universal Pictures on April 17, 2009. She will also bee seen in Robert Zemeckis’ A CHRISTMAS CAROL, her third collaboration with the director. The Charles Dickens classic, like BEOWULF, is a motion capture animated film in which Wright stars opposite Jim Carey. Walt Disney Pictures has slated release for November 6, 2009.

Wright is currently in production on Rebecca Miller’s THE PRIVATE LIVES OF PIPPA LEE opposite Winona Ryder and Julianne Moore.

Wright is currently directing a documentary on female surfers.
